Guest Speaker
K9 Emergency Response Specialist | Trainer | Lead Instructor, Canine Health Canada
Jennifer Burgoyne is a retired RCMP officer with more than two decades of frontline experience in canine training, health, and emergency response. A nationally respected educator and advocate for working dogs, she brings a rare combination of tactical expertise and compassionate leadership to every role she takes on.
As the founder of Elite Dog Centre and Courage K9 First Aid, Jennifer has dedicated her career to advancing the safety, performance, and long-term wellbeing of working dog teams. She currently serves as Lead Trainer with Canine Health Canada, where she specializes in K9 CPR and emergency first aid, training professional handlers to respond decisively in time-critical situations.
Her background spans protection dogs, service animals, and detection units, giving her deep insight into the physical demands and risks associated with operational K9 work. She is also a skilled instructor in canine behaviour, training theory, and handler communication — making her a sought-after mentor within both professional and civilian K9 circles.

Based on a rural farm in Alberta, Jennifer shares her life with her service dog Chaos (a Belgian Malinois x Dutch Shepherd) and a dedicated working pack. Together, they support local first responders through wellness visits and trauma-informed outreach — work that reflects Jennifer’s enduring commitment to those who serve on both ends of the leash.
In addition to her training and field work, Jennifer provides strategic support in communications and social media, helping internal instructor teams and external partners stay connected and informed.
At UNITED K9 2025, Jennifer will lead a hands-on seminar on K9 CPR and Canine First Aid — an essential session designed to equip handlers, trainers, and emergency personnel with the practical tools and confidence to act when it matters most.
