Michal Aloni – Mezzo-Soprano | Performer of the National Anthems – Sunday, September 14

We are proud to welcome mezzo-soprano Michal Aloni to UNITED K9 2025, where she will perform both the Canadian and American national anthems during our Sunday ceremony.

Born in Tel Aviv and now based in Canada, Michal is a singer, actress, and emerging stage director, celebrated for her velvety tone, emotionally compelling performances, and powerful stage presence. With a voice praised for both its warmth and strength, she brings an exceptional level of artistry to every performance.

Her artistic journey has taken her around the world — from early musical studies in Israel to advanced training and performance in the UK and Canada.

Michal’s operatic highlights include roles such as Sesto (La clemenza di Tito), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Ottavia (L’incoronazione di Poppea), and Diana (La Calisto), with performances across North America and Europe. She is also a passionate interpreter of contemporary works and recently appeared in Opera’Actuel 24 with Chants Libres, premiering new compositions by Takuto Fukuda and Roozbeh Tabandeh. Her voice was also featured in the soundtrack for PLAY DEAD, a multidisciplinary circus production by People Watching.

A member of the Canadian Opera Company Chorus since 2022, Michal continues to explore the intersection of music and theatre. She has trained in improvisation at The Second City and Montreal Improv and is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma in Stage Direction at McGill University. Michal holds degrees from the University of Western Ontario and the Jerusalem Academy of Music, and has received numerous awards for her artistic excellence.

Her presence at UNITED K9 brings not only a remarkable voice, but a rare combination of talent, discipline, and international perspective — a fitting tribute to the courage and dedication we honour in the working dog community.
