Randy Turner – Special Forces Operator – MMA Champion & Founder of Direct Action

After 21 years of distinguished military service — including 16 years as an Assaulter with Canada’s elite Joint Task Force 2 (JTF2) — Randy Turner has become one of the country’s foremost experts in combatives, tactical training, and personal protection.

Randy’s operational experience spans the globe, with eight deployments in high-risk environments such as Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Lebanon. His missions have ranged from high-stakes kill-capture operations to providing close protection for the Prime Minister of Canada. A key architect behind the combatives program still in use by his former unit, Randy brought the same level of discipline and innovation into the civilian sphere with the creation of Direct Action — a full-spectrum training company offering realistic, no-nonsense combative instruction for military, law enforcement, security professionals, and civilians alike.

A former Bantamweight MMA Champion and one of Canada’s Top 10-ranked fighters in two divisions, Randy blends world-class technical ability with deep experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Krav Maga, Combat Submission Wrestling, Boxing, Muay Thai, Freestyle Wrestling, Blauer Tactical’s SPEAR System, Kali, and IPSC sport shooting.

His philosophy is simple: Forge resilience by hardening both mind and body. Through Direct Action, Randy provides progressive, pressure-tested training that builds physical confidence, sharpens mental toughness, and helps people — from elite professionals to everyday citizens — become harder targets.
